Sun is developing a revolutionary new desktop codenamed Project Looking Glass,it's a 3D Desktop.Based on Java,it has a rich 3D environment,in which the windows can not only be resized as in normal desktops but also turned, pushed backward, beneath or above the other windows. This results in a very immersive desktop, but the downside is it's a resource hogger,it needs minimum 512 MB ram,2GHz processor,24bit display depth is required.it supports only Linux and Solaris.

The windows will be having a glassy look and will be available in 3D.
I saw it in PCQuest and it is excellent to look at. But I dont think I will install it as it will make my computer crawl.
