Hey all !!! After a long time i decided to build the pc from components lying with me for 2 months now ..... The components were CPU:e8400 , mobo :: asus P5KPL-VM (got this after replacing faulty Zotac N73PV),RAM :2GB transcend, LiteOn DVDR/W IDE ,HD: 400 GB SATA+1 TB SATA ... I also intend to use a 40 gb IDE HD ...These are all the problems i faced .....

1. Now the problem is that the PSU from Iball has only two 4-pin power connectors ...... so are there any options for increasing the power conns sort of like a extension wire .....

2. Also the sata 4 pin molex is present besides the power cable & data cable ... Do we require to connect it ....

3. Now when i connected the PC using a IDE HD as master and a DVD drive as slave ... the bios showed that i need to have a BIOS update as it does not recognise the new CPU ...

4. After displaying the error msg for a minute or so .. the pc shut down by itself ..... just to confirm my fear i switched on the PC and BIOS showed that the CPU temp was very high .... I have connected the CPU fan only and it was attached to the mobo securely . do i need to use a thermal paste or something ....

5. The user guide mentioned that u need to have something called a chasis fan if u r using a dual core ... What fan is this ?????
If needed i have the pictures of all the above connectors ... also i have snaps of the final thing with the fan attached ....

chassis fan is supposed to be the fan in your cabinet...connected to the chassis fan connector on the motherboard.

usually the heatsink that came along with the CPU has the thermal paste already applied..the greyish thing on the heatsink..but you can buy thermal paste and reapplied it if you want after cleaning.

your motherboard is supposed to support the CPU in question..

as regards the power supply of the PC..iball one..keep it in some place safe and go and buy a proper power supply from coolermaster 600W, antec or even corsair 450W if you can afford..

you must be using onboard video..

though you can get extension but i suggest a new power supply..
