Problem With Windows XP

New problem with windows XP(sp2 installed on a P4 2.6Ghz 256 Mb RAM)...
whenever i start my computer, it's really slow and when i start winamp, it only plays for 12 seconds then dosent play any sound eventhough winamp is still running.
Can any one help me?

start>run>msconfig press enter

click on the startup TAb and uncheck everything

uninstall the av/firewall

scan ur system for spywares/adwares and turn off system restore from hard-disk from mycomputer>settings>system restore

and then post ur experience

reinstall winamp too...

i had already done all that..but i did it again...but the same problem...still laging n all...

i got sick of it n restored my system ...now everything's fine...but u never know...thanx anyway..!
