most probably , u r having a spyware in ur PC. do a scan with a good antispyware like webroot spysweeper , adaware , or spybot search n destroy.

yep, an broadband connection, per se, wud not slow down ur connection; but maybe while surfing ur pc contracted some malware. so as rightly suggested above, instal a good anti-virus like avast or avg and a good anti-spyware like adaware or avg. update them both. go into safe mode, and scan ur pc with them. u can also use 'ccleaner' to clean up ur pc junk.

it shud help. if it dznt, pls revert :) have a nice day !

Run a good antispyware and an antivirus. It is most probably a spyware or virus problem.

open the task manager and find out which program is using the cpu the most and just terminate it. if there is startup entry for that program remove it

If you dont find any process as suspecious, then the "AVAST AV" is making all the problem.

Just try this==> Disable the Avast AV thru "msconfig"-> restart & try to browse (ONLY a trusted site, like Digit forum, microsoft website.). if there's no problem, you got the culprit.

This happened to me & my cousin. the PC would Craaawl.

did you use a spyware or adware detecor to look for the same. They are the main reasons for slowing down of the computers now days!! Your free version will detect atleast if not remove. You will know the reason and then you can take a decesion wether to go in for a good anti-spyware software or not?!
    Hope this helps
