printed page back to text file...?

I have some question papers(printed eariler) that is to be transmitted back to printed form...
what i am trying to do is SCAN IT ,May be some how turn that image file to PDF then use Drake PDF TO rtf contertor to convert files in to text files(
my simple logic ,i have not done but going to do)...

Will this work
what i want to know is ARE THERE BETTER WAY OF DOING THIS...?

CAN HAND WRITTEN DOCUMENT SCANNED AND CHANGED IN TO TEXT DOCUMNET ..Dont care about font...

Can these be done if yes how whats the best way that give better result...
(way or name of software will be much appreciated).

It's not that simple.

Once a document (or anything) is scanned .. it's an image file. Even PDF will add it up as an image. It wont recognize the text in it.

You will need a OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software to identify the text in the image. OCR is a very tricky thing .. it may work, it may not .. you cant say it for sure. Most good OCR are costly .. there are a few free softwares like Omniformat. But frankly speaking, till date I havent been able to convert any text successfully using it.

With handwritten text .. the possibility of success is next to zero..
but you can try. :)

Abbyy FineReader is one of the best OCR software. But its not free.
