I wanna assemble a gaming rig

Please tell me the price of the following components and also tell how good this config is

AMD 939 3000+

MSI RS480 M2-IL

Transcend 512 400 ddrram

Vip Sata POwer supply (tell me the power capacity i need if i wont add
any more accessories also the price)+ ATX

Leadtek 6600gt 128mb tdh graphics

Seagate sata 160gb

Also please tell me the price of the following components

Sony dru720 a DVD Writer

Sony DVD ROM + FDD

LG Studioworks 17"

Craetive SBS 370 Speakers

LOgitech quickcam express

Compro tv tuner + fm

A good 56Kbps modem (please suggest brand)

LOgitech wingman precision pad

LOgitech keyboard + mouse

I use only the above mentioned components tell me whether a 350 w power supply and a 500va ups be sufficient or should i need a 400 w / 600 va combination . Also tell me about the prices

Dont go for msi rs480, its not that much suitable for a gaming rig, go for a nf4 board. Also since u r going for 6600 gt there is no need for onboard video.

For modem go for dlink, if u plan to use linux and also want to surf the net then go for an external one.

ur going for a dvd writer so whats the need fo another dvd rom.

Then can you suggest me a good nforce4 mobo abt that price of the msi rs480m2 and i also saw that foxconn board on techtree ... is foxconn a good brand when it comes to good built quality and service

At that price foxconn is ur best bet coz AFAIK none of the nf4 mobos are priced at 5k, if u can add 2-3k more than consider Asus A8NE. Ya its a reputed brand in the international mkt. I think its distributor is MEdiatech.

For saving 2-3K contact funkymonkey he is selling Gigabyte 6600 gt for 8K PCI-e.

Go for 400W /600Va comination to be on the safe side.

transcend is not written in user guide to be supported.
but if you get it get it box packed,2750 + tax
get 2 of them (1gb ram) dual ch ram
or hynix d43 for 2400(i got for 3025 few days ago,it was cheaper in other shop but hynix d43 has many fakes myself got a fake one/two,bought 2 modules / pc

get antec sl400/450(450 one with 25A on +12va line),400,over 3k,450,over 4k(bought for 4100 or something)

Leadtek 6600gt 128mb tdh graphics how much warranty ? try to get 2-3yrs atleast.if you wanna use 3yrs then try to get 3yrs,consider xfx or big (if other ppl at those forums say that it is good and if it has 3yrs warranty)
ask others for gigabyte/gainward/msi
abt 10k for non-box oced, pci-e
get 1000mhz memory or higher


Seagate sata 160gb NCQ(4150)(insist on NCQ if your mobo supports atleast and confirm from others)

My friend bought a new AMD PC with 3000+ CPU (socket 939).Now he is saying that his old celeron 1.2Ghz was more superior to this in games.He could see just a small difference in speed.That sucks.So Go for AMD 3500+ or better or better stay with your current config.BTW he has Good graphics card GEforce 5700.

Dont go for FX series as they are way too costlier around 30ooo-40oooRs
Dont forget to get 7800GT especially ASUS brand which will cost around 25000Rs
Get Logitech 7.1 speakers around 20-25K.This will make a good config.

CHill out first.

Just play Half life 2 or Farcry with Cel 1.2 and AMD 3000+ with a good graphics card like 5700.then u will know what im talking about.Hardly u will notice any difference between the two.So AMD sucks-Celeron rocks

and instead of payin 25k for a set of computer speakers u can get a decent hometheatre in that much
