Pls suggest a Mobo - Urgent

Hello friends,

Am looking to invest in a new Mobo. My current PC was bought in 2007.

Issue: Mobo got bricked 2 years ago and got it repaired at an expense. But ever since then, system performed real slow and was getting stuck. Also bought a 2 GB RAM recently but only a slight improvement. System doesn't perform good yet. There used to be a graphic card but its fan didn't work and ultimately it died.

Below is the existing config:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3000.0 MHz - AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+
CPU Platform: Socket AM2
CPU Code Name: Windsor

Motherboard Model: ASUS M2N-VM DVI
Motherboard Chipset: nVidia nForce 630a (MCP68)

Memory Type: Transcend 2 GB DDR2-SDRAM 400.0 MHz (PC2-6400) (Model: JM800QLU-2G)
Drive Model: Seagate ST3250310AS - 250 GB

Would like to change the Mobo as I suspect it to be the culprit behind all these.
Please suggest me a good Mobo.
Its only for pure browsing, Watching x264 mkv (My current one doesn't play an mkv smooth and it stucks frequently) , normal office work and playing games that came before 2007

I dont think changing the mobo would improve the performance.

You can go with this.
Intel G2010 @ 2.8k
ASUS P8H61 @ 2.8k/Gigabyte GAB75 @ 4K
Corsair Value Select 4 GB @ 1.7k
Total 6.3k/ 7.5K...
This processor has an integrated Graphics and can play HD movies easily .

thank you but I thought everything else actually not have had any issues...wouldn't it suffice if I buy only a Mobo.
My budget is only 3-4k....and more over since these are almost 5 yr old, how abt the rates of these If i want to sell and buy a new combo

Try selling them at the bazaar . You may get good prices for them. :) good luck, and going for a new combo is good.

What might be the costs I can expect as the folks at bazaar or computer shops might quote less and charge more for the new ones

Thanks but shouldn't I worry about the PSU?

Spending around 3k for a new older gen. mobo is not a wise decision.
Better spend 7k and get the config mentioned above by 'Sainatarajan'.

I meant the think digit bazaar. What psu do you have currently?? You should go for corsair 430v v2 for 2.6k.

You can use the Old PSU for one month and buy a new Corsair CX430 V2 when you have money. But buy it as soon as you can.
