hi brilliant guys

i m really tantalized coz of my window xp doing some weird things in the recent 2 weeks.whenever i try to open any file it opens the software related with that but not that file.for example if i try to open a .mp3 winamp will get opened but it will not play that song,if i try to open .pdf acrobat will open and not that file and i have to open those manually going into options as file>open and so on. similar behavior is happening with .ppt,.dat,.mpeg,.raretc.
i dont know what is this crap all abt.

It seems your registry has been played with. Try associating any file with a software. For eg. Right click on any mp3 and set it to open with winamp or WMP3. Now double click the file and if it opens fine with winamp then the above assumption is verified.

i did that but to not use.
i think some service might hav stopped in the task manager>processes
any clue about that

Better try to reinstall of the software(winamp,acrobat reader).And reply me dose it work's??????

well....i dont think you can manually install all the softwares to fix the extension. I may not be final but still I suggest the good option is to reinstall the OS and implement some better security this time.
