Please Help With This GPRS Problem

Hi, I am using Sony Ericsson W850i and have recently subscribed to PlanetHutch Services for West Bengal. The problem is my I could not connect using GPRS in spite of the fact that GPRS has been successfully activated (I confirmed this from the Hutch Customer Care personnel)

Since there is no automatic settings available for my phone model, I have manually set up the GPRS settings...

With These Settings whenever I try to browse using the WAP browser, at first it tries to reconnect and then gives the foll. error message:

"Connection Failure. Check settings. If problem persists Contact your operator"

Please help me with this problem. The hutch personnel said to clean up the SIM and then reconnect but its failing. Seems to be a problem with my phone settings

Your APN is wrong. It should be 'portalnmms' instead of 'portainmms' (replace 'i' with 'l')

I'm glad it worked. I used to have hutch long back. Used the gprs on it extensively. Almost know the gprs settings by heart.

is hutch providing unlimited gprs in ur area ????

Downloads limits weren't counted earlier in hutch, orange then. I guess that's when he used to use it.

hutch always expensive when we talk abt gprs so no point using hutch cos i think its most expensive as far as gprs is concern as they dont have unlimited plan all other service peovider have unlimited plan thx

Yeah that's right. Earlier (around a couple of years ago), hutch (previously Orange in mumbai) used to offer gprs at Rs.99/month in mumbai. It was an unlimited plan. Its then that i used it extensively. Now they charge according to amount of data transfered.

U wont be able to access other sites because u've subscribed to the BSNL portal service.To access all sites subscribe to full GPRS service.

Thanks buddy but i feel i am being charged more than what they are supposed to charged(10kb/10paise)since i am in students plan.
