phone dialer

hello folks I have finally managed to configure the phone dialer on my PC but I was wonderng if i can make phone calls using just the microphone and my headset.I tried calling my mobile from the computer and I do get the ringing tone on my mobile but i cant hear any dialling tone or anything for that matter from the ear phone.Am using a dial up connection,

another question, if i am using a LAN will I be able to make normal phone calls from the computer considering the above problem doesnt exist.

Your modem need to be compliant in making voice calls .. Most modems have an extra headphone and mic port on them .. You should put your microphone in those ports instead of your sound card ports ..

my moidem is not having extra mic or headphone port. Can I still talk with people as i can here their voices from it.
