Right off the assembly line
1. What is the purpose of the computer?
A: Some usual internet surfing and mild gaming

2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?
A: Yes

3. What is your MAX budget?
A: $360 (w/ or w/o display)

4. Planning to overclock?
A: Nope

5. Which OS are you planning to use?
A: Windows 7 / XP

6. How much hard drive space is needed?
A: 160GB or more

7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want?
A: Good resolution for gaming (not the newest games like assassins creed, just some normal online games), around 17`` or above

8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10?
A: 6

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
A: No, by an assembler

10. When are you planning to buy the system?
A: In two days (unless a 300% better offer comes out soon)

11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?
A: Nope

12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention.
A: Not really anything unless mouses/speakers are overpriced and I can find them seperately

13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
A: Palo Alto, CA. Maybe buy it in another state and then ship it here (I'm not sure but I think the taxes in CA are higher?)

14. Mention any other points if deemed necessary
A: Wifi definitely needed. This is just for my son who plays Maplestory all day, but I'm sure he's getting into League of Legends or Flyff. I don't care about the storage space/speed at all, I only want a so-so processor/graphics card/ram so he can play those games at low-medium specs. (Since you can tell his budget is very low)

He asked w or w/o display. Without display , he can shave $119 and add better components. He won't be shipping or buying from newegg i guess. Its just a refference.

UPS is very very necessary. Sudden power cut can lead to data loss.

Imagine his son playing a very difficult level on that game and in the 57th try he finally completes it. "Phew let me just save it." POWER CUT.

:D

BTW your Mobo is Open Box. Not sure what that is but will that be available locally?

Also in his OP he says that he wants WiFi and he kinda wants to buy from another state.

Hey guys, thanks so much for the help! I appreciate it alot =)!

Yeah I don't really care where I buy it as long as it's cheap. I can find the speakers, mouse, display, and OS separately. It's my first time purchasing like this but I'll have to order all those separately and assemble them myself right? Shipping from newegg sounds good to me.
And I don't really think the UPS is necessary...I would like the power to get cut off so my son play a little less games =p lol..

Hmm are Bulldozer's specs slightly better than ishis? For the price, I'll prob use ishis rec w/o the UPS and add on Bulldozer's display. but that'll cost $435. Hm you think its worth getting a crappy $50 15`` screen? Or what bout the Hanns·G HZ194APB Black 18.5" for $95?

Newegg.com - ASUS VH197D Black 18.5" 1366 x 768 5ms LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 ASCR 10,000,000 :1

do not go for smaller monitors. this is just 2$ more now.

Hmm are you sure that bulldozer's build is better? ill prob stick with ishi's, if it really makes no difference.

Also about the moniter - your suggested one ASUS VH197D or the Hanns·G HZ194APB Black 18.5" with speakers? I was just thinking that the Hanns moniter has speaker so I could save $10, and they are both 18.5``.
Does the ASUS's LED backlight thing really works or is it just bs? Worth the $15 upgrade?

Wait I got one very last important question. Somehow the ram Ishi suggested is 1GB even though he wrote 2GB on it. So I'll be using bulldozer's ram Corsair@2GB, but it is compatible and installable on the Biostar A880G+ motherboard?

actually both the builds are almost same except the mobo. and i have heard bad things about biostars. also the internal monitor speakers arent good. LED monitors offer better contrast.

can you tell me first whether you want to include shipping in 360$ or separate..?

Oh well I got ishi's build with the corsair@2gb ram, hanssg monitor and another dvd (since it was sold out) and everything else except the UPS.
Now I just need to learn how to assemble it myself..

Thanks alot guys! It helped me a bunch =)
