Hi guys,

My PC has got this problem. When I start it the power light starts and 2 seconds later the PC switches off, Then within a second sometimes it starts on its own or I have to press the switch again for it to start.

This has been happenning quite often now and its generally after the overnight stretch and occassionally during the day also.

Can you all help me solve the issue. The PC is a few months old.

Thanks for all the help.

Config :
Here goes my config.

Transcend 2 x 1Gb @ 800Mhz
Seagate 160 GB HDD SATA2

and all the usual accessories.

Do what ravi_9793 have said.

Also check your cabinet power & reset switch. They may be jammed.

If possible check your hardwares on a different cabinet.

My PC automatically reboots frequently during use. I have dual booting with Win 98 and XP. This is happening for both OS quite for some time.

Kindly suggest the way out.

hey dude, this mostly happens to me when my power or reset switch gets jammed.... most of the time, just slapping the switch works, but sometimes i hv to manually release it... best of luck

No I don't think its a case of power switch or reset switch being jammed. They click each time they are pressed and they push back out.

How do I make out if it is a SMPS or RAM ?

Thanks

Does that happen when u have "setup detaults" set in BIOS, set defaults in BIOS and let us know if this happens.
