You can either choose the best for gaming in the budget or the best for everything else.
Case 1:
Best possible gaming in budget
Decent things other than that

Case 2:
Very very average gaming
Better things other than that

I will configure a PC with priority to current games only. OK?

AMD 64 3200 AM2 - 4000+
Once you overclock it, it will more or less be fine for most games provided the GPU is good enough. To reduce the price further you can get 3000 instead, however I don't recommend that. In fact if you want you can get 3500 as well.

Don't buy Asus M2N E - Will need to research the right mobo out

Seagate 200/250GB SATA II NCQ - 3.5-4k
If you want to reduce costs you can choose 160GB instead.

2 X 1GB/512mb DDR2 667 Corsair(d9 chips) or Transcend - 8500 and up
Check compatibility with mobo before buying

Drives
DVD RW + Combo + FDD or any other thing you need

Generic Cabinet worth Rs.1000+- with succifient ventilation

Cooler Master 430/450 or Powersafe 450/500 watts
Depends upon price and requirement, will decide it later, but let it be up to 2-3k here

Samsung 798MB Plus 17" true flat - 6-7k
17" TFT is not in your budget. That would be a big compromise on CPU, GPU and RAM and there is no point wasting money there.

Microsoft Comfort 3000 or the newer model - around 800
or Logitech MX 518 - almost 3k

Microsoft Internet/Multimedia KB - aroudn 400+

Microtek 800VA UPS - 2000+ or APC 800va - 3k+

Altec Lansing 2.1 - 1.5k

GPU
1)Geforce 7900GT - 17k
2)Geforce 7900GS - 15k
3)Geforce 7600GT - 10k or X1800GTO

Thanx akashayt
I would prefer a pentium proccesor atleast 3GHz or more
mobo which supports dual core, DDR & DDR2 RAM ,sata & sata2 ,PCIe 16x,good onboard sound so that even if had to upgrade later i have no problem
So give me a config which supports all the above things

@cooldude
hi buddy..Athlon X2 would be hell better that even the most powerful PentiumD ie the 3.4Ghz one.
The only choice of Gcard in that range ie 9k is 7600GS[7k]. If u can extent it to atleast 1.5k u can get the 7600GT which is hell better than a GS. Or for 12.5k u can get an ATI X1800GTO which is lil better than the 7600GT.
Either u go for a conroe or an x2. But never get a pentium D, ya its the cheapest dual core, but defenitely not worth it. Get the lowest X2 3800+ as the E6300 is not widely available now.
