but u wouldn't need 3 of them.....if u have a lot of money, go for 2. with that u can play crysis etc. at ultra high. later when the 9xxx series comes out, go for it

Don't go for 8800GTX, instead go for 8800GT. It is price is half of the 8800gtx's price and the performance decreases by only a small margin.Pair two 8800GTs in Sli mode and you can enjoy almost every game with full eye candy at max resolutions.

If you have been living lately you woulda known that nforce 7 has been released.
The motherboard that i am buying supports 3 way SLI. but the SLI bridge only supports 8800GTX or 8800 Ultra

even Maya, 3ds Max and other gfx intensive applications don't need 3 8800GTXs....maybe 2 at the most. 3 is definitely an overkill....think of the money he'll be spending on the PSU...what'll he take? 1kilowatt?

ok here is an update
after much consideration i have decided to buy only 2 GTX

and by the way i have a 1050 watt power supply so no probs with the power

I was reading the reviews of the processor I am taking. Its the latest QX9650 quad core extreme (45 nm one). I came accross a review in which guys clamis to have overcloked this thing to 4.6 Ghz. The stock speed is 3.0 Ghz

also I am getting liquid cooling complimentry with the cabby:cool:

die blizzard die! D3?
ok,nice cool. Are you by any means any ambani ot tata or birla?

And I waited for 4 months to get a 8600gt.:(

I would suggest you get a simple 8800gt\gts for now and get the ultimate big daddy 9800gtx in april or so,I assure you it will cost a bomb in the beginning(some 700-800$ they are saying).Buying a 8800gtx is useless now.

Does it support 2 way SLI with other cards like 8800GT?
Coz it SLI 8800GTx2 makes more sense as the limitation of memory bandwidth is minimised due to the effective 2x256bit 1GB meory.
And also GT needs much less power than GTX, so even 2x 8800GT in SLI can be handled by a gud 600W PSU like Corsair HX 620.

Or get 2x8800GTS 512MB for 17k or 2x8800GTS 1GB for 21k.
Even a single 8800GTS 1GB is better than 8800GTX, so GTSx2 will easily beat 2xGTX, nd also consumes much less power nd heat, bo better overclockability.

From where did u get those prices of the 8800GTS 512 MB and 1 GB versions??
Please let me know coz I wanna buy 2 of the GTSs. I am getting the mobo XFX 780I SLI probably from NEWEGG @ $320. I rejected EVGA due to customer support unavailability in India.
If I get the GTSs at those prices, I may get themfrom India, otherwise again from NEWEGG.
