Hello World!!
I want to a pc in the 1st week of jan 2012.. I have configured this my budget is 20k+PSU (I do not require a monitor)

I will use only for very casual gaming and in future will add a HD 6670 as A8 3850 is an APU. And also I am unable to decide upon a good PSU for my build.
Please feel free to give me any new suggestion...

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Generic answers will not work. Be exact and avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:Casual Gaming and Home use. All latest games like fifa12, dirt3. software to edit videos.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:35k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 500GB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: No monitor required. 1366x768 is my current reso. i have 19" AOC using radeon 9200

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:MONITOR,KEYBOARD,MOUSE,UPS,SPEAKER

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: 1st week of jan 2012

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:i have never built one but will do this time

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:New Delhi.I would try 2 avoid online shops

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:Should be future proof and looks should be stylish and cool. I would like 2 know the best price for 120mm red LED FAN

Hi Techniboy, welcome to TDF. For better suggestion please read and fill up the questions present in *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/pc-components-configurations/149943-pc-build-questionnaire-template.html and post it here.

The config chosen by you is near perfect, so don't wanna make many changes on it.
For ram, rather that getting two 2GB modules, get a single 4GB 1600 MHz module as it is the current standard and enables you to add another 4GB in future to run it in dual channel mode. Get the Gskill RipjawX 1600 MHz 4GB module around 1.5/1.6K.
2ndly hard disks are very costly now a days due to the low rate production because of the flood in Thailand and closure of most of the manufacturing plants of Seagate and WD. Now 500 GB HDDs are priced around 4k+. So better get a 250 GB HDD around 3.3K for now.

For PSU, Corsair CX500 V2 i@ 3K is well enough for your current configs as well as for the future upgrades.

1st.. where did you get a harddisk for 2100rs..? is it online..?

For PSU choose Corsair or FSP or seasonic

For cabinet with that budget i recommend NZXT gamma...

4GB CORSAIR VEGENANCE 1,600
LG CD/DVD DRIVE 1,000
Corsair Carbide 400R or CM 680 II Advanced 4.7k
Corsair CX500W 3,000

TOTAL=RS.30,000

Please confirm this config.... I am going 2 buy it tomorrow

Saw it flipkart a month ago it was out of stock...

NZXT not availible in Delhi but planning 2 get a Corsair Carbide 400R..

OMG!!!

On Monday I am going to Nehru Place...!!!!!!!!

I went to Nehru Place Today...

And I confirmed this rig...

Processor- AMD FX 4100
Motherboard- Gigabyte GA-880GM USB3 (rev.3.1)
RAM- 4GB Corsair Vengeance (@Cilus I failed to search for RipjawsX)
GFX Card-Sapphire HD 6850
CD DRIVE-LG DRIVE
PSU-Corsair GS600
Cabinet- CM Elite 335 (Suggest me a better one PLEASE) Can spend 1k more
HDD-500GB WD (I don't know how I managed to get this)

TOTAL= 33,500

I can still change this config....

Any better suggestions..?? I will appreciate them..

1st rule of shopping:never believe what shopkeeper says

go to smcinternational site & check cabinet prices there.there is another shop in the same row which also sells coolermaster cabinets(3-4 shops right of cost2cost i think).check their prices too.

Don't believe him. 965 BE is better. FX-4100 is expensive for the performance.

btw, I'm warning you beforehand. SMC will only have Cooler Master power supplies and might try to sell you those. Don't believe him. Corsair power supplies in Nehru Place are scarce. @whitestar_999 yeah i saw a shop... (Did not compare the prices...:sad:)
and is bitfenix by any chance can be found in Nehru Place??

@ico I found a Corsair GS600 in SMC International.. @4k
and i know the pl computer shop.. but then the smc guy says he wont assemble the pc..(I was forced by my parents not assemble the PC myself.:-()

AMD Phenom 965BE is not available in any of the shops (Checked SMC,Vipin,Cost to Cost) I will go to Computer empire 2morrow.. (Vipin had 955)

AND can I find a red 120mm fan in NP??

last time i went to nehru place phenom II lowest price was quoted as 6800 for X4 970.at what price are you getting 955.
