Password-protect zip&rar files??

I usr winrar for compression,but can u tell me how do i password-protect it?

Winrar > Add Archive (to create a new archive) > Advanced tab > Set Password button

it isn't working for me,it still opens the folder w/o asking for password?(old files)

In the set password form, there is an option to encrypt file names also... You should select it to require the password for read access... If not, it will ask for password only when you try to extract the files...

Extract the content, make a new archive, thats all

Create a folder with all the reqd. files in it.
Right click on it.
Choose Winrar > Add To Archive.
Go to advanced Tab.
Click Set Password.
If u wanna show the content of the archive w/o askin the pass word, dont check the "Encrypt File Names" box.
Type the password.
Choose any other option if u req.
Press OK.
