I'd like to know what should one look for while buying a good DVD R/W. Which is the best brand as far as DVD R/Ws go? Why go for a particular brand?

What should one keep in mind while selecting a DVD R/W?

Finally, for a city like Mumbai, any help from a Mumbaiite, with regards to where to hunt for a DVD R/W for the best deal, is welcome.

In case you haven't figured it out... I'm now feeling the need of a DVD R/W. And I'm kicking myself, fair and square, for not being able to find the time(to exhaustively hunt for a good deal) for myself.

One of my friends speculated that BenQ is launching/has launched a new line of DVD R/Ws which incorporates read/rewritability of the next format of DVDs. I haven't made any inquiries on that front. Is this true?
