Opinion on Sony Vaio laptops

Sowmya

Right off the assembly line
Hi guys,

I am planning to buy Sony vaio 15.5 (39.37 cms) VAIO E Series 15 (Black). SVE15115EN : E Series : VAIO™ Laptop & Computer : Sony India

This costs 48,990 INR

Is this best option? or is there any other good brand option with the same configuration (less price than sony?) ??

Sony Vaio laptops ship with the most amount of useless "Sony" bloatware/crapware. Usually you'll end up reinstalling Windows from an untouched DVD on Sony laptops.

i second that..something i noticed recently as well..sony fills an unbelievable amount of bloatware which hampers the performance...

The only good thing about Sony is that they try to pack a full size keyboard with number pad in their 15 inchers, and they look nice. Rest all parameters it is behind the competition- quality is suspect, sound output is not too great, price to performance and features is simply not there.

Living on past glory, as like most of its other products is Sony- the competition is moving a lot faster

^I third that. Sony does more promotion than doing other things. Too many stickers and bloatwares.

Totally agree with you guys, but if we reinstall the windows without all that crap sony performance is quite good and one thing is good they don't have any heating issues.

haha i fourth that..
recently my friend bought E15116 @44k and brought that @ my home for partitioning the drives, man i was frustrated to see such a sluggish performance on a brand new laptop directly coming from showroom, the greatest resource hog was some gesture control application by sony, constantly eating 60-70% CPU on an i5, i was totally "blown away" by the performance.. :p
we too ended in formatting that thing.. :)
