nvidia 680 or 650 are very very expensive and intel 975 also... But NVIDIA provides very nice chipset features... so you can go for INTEL if you are planning to buy a intel proccy and NVIDIA if AMD... You can also go for NVIDIA in intel but 975 will be very good for intel..

Depends on the rest of your setup... how much are you willing to spend? If you want SLI then 680i SLI is the only option. The Asus P5N32-E SLI is a really good board with bios updates especially if you wanna clock ram and FSB sky high. It did have some data corruption issues in the earlier revisions. Not sure if its completely fixed. Also it has more severe vdroop issues compared to the 965/975 boards.

If SLI is not needed, 975/965 mobos are nice. The biggest trouble with 975 motherboards such as the Intel 975XBX2 and Asus P5WDH is that they hit an fsb wall around 430-440FSB. If you are fine with that and also fine with RAM at lower than 1000-1050 MHz, 975X is the fastest chipset you can buy. If you want a compromise, get a nice P965 board like P5B Deluxe instead. Clocks memory way better than 975.

Rough prices: P5N32-E SLI - 14.5k+tax, P5WDH - 13K+tax, P5B Deluxe 12k.
