There was a power failure & surprisingly my UPS went off & did not work on batries. So the computer was terminated abruptly.

When I restarted the comp,NAV 2005 did not load in the startup..
when opened NAV everything was in red giving error.

Then I unintalled NSW 2005..but it did not uninstall(the uninstaler closed automatically).
So I deleted the folders manually & searched for norton in the registry & deleted the entries as told in this thread.

when I try to install after that I get the following errors:

*img146.echo.cx/img146/3230/error17yi.jpg

when I click OK,I get this:

*img146.echo.cx/img146/2277/error22wj.jpg

How do I get them back to work.

Thankz!!!!!

NSW is nor there in Add/remove list as I manually deleted entries in the registry(without backing up :( )

probably all your registry keys have not got deleted, as a result of which it is detecting an earlier installation.

since u have already removed files/folders, i suggest you MAKE SURE u have removed all norton system work related folders/files (do a search if reqd).

then clean up your registry for invalid entries. use one ore more of the following registry optimizers:

ace utilities, tune-up utilities, system mechanic, super utilities, etc.

hopefuly i shud solve your problem. :)

Thanks!!!

Those links were useful.I downloaded Symantec product removal tools which removes all traces of Symantec products and then I installed NSW.
It works fine now!! :p

Glad it helped... but one little suggestion: Don't use NAV, it's the worst AV I've used. Try NOD32. It's much better.

Don't know about NSW, never used it, but NAV s***s.
