Nokia Model for GPRS

Dear friends,
I am planning to buy a Gprs nokia mobile to browse the internet via BSNL GPRS. Which is the best Model that will have internal mobile modem and the cost is<=7000/-.

The best is nokia 6610.

6610 has internal modem for the pc internet thing.
It costs around rs. 6500.

Well i know this is way above ur budget.
Go fr nokia 3220 bcos its got EDGE with which browsing is way better than GPRS.
3220 costs around 10K and is really worth it. Budgets on monday and everyone expecting duty cut.So maybe prices could drop further

Nokia 3220 has EDGE, though i dont like its lights
i think EDGE will give me a better speed,
I hav a AirTel Connection,
any of you guys tell me the Avg Speed ,
will it be good n reliable phone,
n anyother phone you would recommend in similar price range.

3220 is the cheapest EDGe phone that u can buy and i dont think u will be able to get another phone for below 9k. 3220 is a good phone, i can't understand why u don't like the neon light thing?

The next phone after 3220 which has edge is 6230 which costs 12.5k or so.

I think u will be able to get decent speeds with such phones.

I checked the price of 6610 for 6.3k n
3220 is available
for 7.7k in kamla nagar

but 3220 doesnt has IrDa or bluetooth, i have to use Dku-5 cable only.

Samsung C100 gave me the speed of 5kbps on AirTel Gprs,
since it was stolen i have to buy a new phone.
The internet was great on that.

How much speed i can expect in EDGE on AirTel Delhi?

3220 please. It has enough oomph at that price. To top it all you have EDGE. Watch Hutch TV over it even while standing in a Q. Its got a nice screen and you have obviously seen the telly ads which show a sea of changable covers. No other phone at this proce point has edge and hence the recommendation.

Hey dude Hutch TV thing is nothing but a marktin strategy,
who will watch Hutch TV
AND morever i got AIRTEL ... so ... no way i gona do that

The main thing is EDGe basically provide more bandwith.
I wanna use it for internet,
as i got good speed on non-EDGe, i hope to get better on that.

3220 has neon lights which some ppl make like it (inc. me). The Xpress on covers also looks nice. U will stand out in a crowd , especially when u get a call in ur 3220 at nights

To top it all you have EDGE. Watch Hutch TV over it even while standing in a Q.

We will have to download any and every clip to view it, it's not live man. And not free either.

How much speed i can expect in EDGE on AirTel Delhi?

I personally have not used EDGe phones, but he says he get around 200kbps speeds . He uses hutch (hutch says we can get upto 384 kbps).

I'm usingedge and a 6630, max browsing speeds with hutchworld are 8-10kbps
