Nokia 3200 internal Modem

Hi. guys..
as you know I have edge net.. but having lots of problem

first I had gprs phone.. so was slow then upgraded to nokia 3220 but was very bad no IR.. or bluetooth.. so baught 3200 (value for money).

it was autodected by winxp as modem over IR ..( as with earlier one 6610) but not able to use it as modem. Then i searched net, it said it can't be used as modem .
but then why nokia is providing driver for this ? I have nokia 3200 modem driver from thier site.

also hutch guy at my place said that he had seen modem option in other 3200..
but I had latest one.. only one month old !!

any comments ?

I had a similar type of problem.
I purchased N3120 after inquiring that it has GPRS, but after that
i came to know from nokia customer care that it has GPRS
but no Modem.

Then i purchased Samsung C100, i downloaded n installed easygprs from samsung-india.com.
I was using my IBM 1.5 centrino laptop.
Everything was set, AirTel settiing was done, infrared activated,
system bar showing Irda port.
when i press DIAL .... it says Dialing... Dialin.....Dialing....

I tried everything but it didnt work.

Then i contacted and visited Samsung people,
they told me that my laptop has WindowsXP SP 2,
so i hav to instal it on non Service pack 2.
I was surprised to know that the problem was
with sp2 ,

so, i got WinXP sp1 CD, installed it, i had to get all the IBM softwares.
And after that it was working great having no problem,
giving me 5kbps on downloading.

The final conclusion was SP2 security constraints was stopping the software.
But SP1 give no problems.
so WinXP with non ServicePack 2 was my solution.
