A human, I use Ubuntu
Whenever I try to install Noia theme from mozilla's website, the browser gives me a message that software installation is disabled, even though the site's name appears in the list of sites which can install software. Please let me know what should I do. This happens with all themes and extensions in FireFox. I am using Win XP with Service Pack 2.

What sites are enabled??

Go to Tools->Options...
Navigate to Content Tab and choose Exceptions near "Warn me when websites..."

Make sure this site is Allowed:
addons.mozilla.org

What version do you use by the way? Latest version of Noia supports Firefox 1.5-1.6 only

I think its bcoz of "Software installation" has been disabled in firefox!
Try following:

1.) Type about:config in the locationbar of firefox and press ENTER.
2.) Now in Filter box type xpinstall.enabled.
3.) Check whether its value is set to TRUE, otherwise double-click on it and it'll automatically change it to TRUE...
