Hi,
I am assembling a computer with budget of 35k for Hardware. These are the parts and prices available for me at Chennai... Please comment:

1. Athlon64 2800+ and ASUS K8N - 11,250
2. Zebronics Shivaji Cabinet w/ 400W power, 2 side fans - 1200
3. 2x256 MB Hynix RAM modules - 4100
4. Samsung 80GB SATA HDD - 3350
5. Sony 52X CDRW - 1350
6. Logitech Spillproof Keyboard - 240
7. Logitech Optical Mouse - 400
8. Samsung 17" Monitor - 5950
9. Creative Inspire 4400 - 4.1 speakers - 2800
10. Radeon 9600 non-pro - 4950

This overshoots my budget by just 600, so I am fine with it... I already have a recently bought APC UPS and printer...
Thanks,
Arun

hi there,
well it looks good to me considering the prevailing prices there..i quite liked items 8,6,5,1..but personally dont like optical muose, hynix RAM modules, creative inspire 4.1..cuz mate as far as i knw hynix isnt a good brand..u cud save money on buying a wired mouse.use that money on 5.1 speakers(thats the usual norm).another thing u cud go for 450+PSU cuz it will only safegurd ur future, nothing else..My point is spend on imp stuff which r critical to the stability of ur rig..

final thing bargain hard and try squeezing few things out from the retailer like a free web cam, better home service, computer covers etc etc..get the point dint u....

c ya..
my nerdie frens will surely get in touch with u...

Nice rig buddy,i recently got an ASUS K8N to go with my AMD64 2800 and it works great,i would recommend u go for 512Mb Transcend ram instead of Hynix!

Laptoping
9600 non pro would be a bottle neck if u are into gaming

i recommend u to go for a better card like 5700 ULTRA or 9600 PRO

dun go for 9600np

besides as someone said trancend stick wod be a better choice

well y dont u consider buying a COMBO, if u are short on money then i guess u can buy a DVD ROM later

go ahead with the rig !!

You may remove one RAM stick, squeeze in a DVD-ROM and still be within your budget. I would suggest a separate DVD-ROM and not a combo. Do you really require 512MB RAM? DVD-ROM could be more useful.

pls for god sakes don't use the radeon 9600pro. as sourabh said the card will be a bottleneck for the pc. i think u should go for somethin like geforcefx5700le or above . best, if u can buy the 6 series gpu from nvidia. btw go for a gaiward geforce card. cheaper and better performers.
