Networking in WIN XP

HI,
I have 5 PC's in our firm. It was previously all qin 98. Now I upgraded pc5 and pc 3 wiht win xp. Now the problem which i am facing with networking. That ic an access pc which having win 98, i.e, pc1, pc2, pc4. But when i try to access PC3 and PC5 it ask for password. what may be the password. becasue i dint gave any password when it asked. Please help me..!! :roll:

Why dont u give them passwrds and then try accessing them coz in xp i hav seen mostly n/w pc's do hav a user accountwhich is shared.

Also try just keeping the passwrds blank just give usernames and press enter wen it asks for the passwrd in Win98.Try it though i am not sure i will wrk.

Assuming that you have XP Pro on the 2 machines,create a user account in XP with the same credentials as that of the user under win98.

Meaning if under windows 98 you logon with username "ranjith" & password "1234" then create a user account under xp with the same username & password.Also make sure you are sharing something under windows xp.

this ought to be the guest password
try enabling the guest account if its off .. see if it works
