    For testing network applications on my desktop (this is not connected to LAN), can anybody suggest a good network simulator,which is free and lightweight.

    cnet is supported only on the following platforms:

    Linux (kernel 2.x, ELF only), DEC-OSF/1 (v4.0), FreeBSD, NetBSD (1.5 onwards),
    SunOS 4.x, Solaris 5.x, and SGI IRIX (Rel. 5 or 6

    I am using WinXP SP2

    Why dont u use loopbacks?
