Hi.
Should I install .Net Framework Runtime v2.0 or v3.0?
Is v3.0 backward compatible?
I mean will it able to run applications that require v2.0?

Currently we are also using the .Net 2.0 framework itself and .Net 3.0 just has the additional features for WCF and WPF.

If this features are needed then it's better if u go for VS.Net 2005 extensions instead of whole framework change.

Version 3.0 is a extension of 2.0. Any application which uses 2.0 should run fine on 3.0 too. There is nothing to worry. Proceed to installation of version 3.0

Versions 3 is Version 2 packed with few extra goodies. No need to install v2 if you are installing v3.

After you install v3, you will have to install the security updates released for v2 by going to MU.
