Needed lan software

I have hotwire internet connection & it is implemented through LAN system.
few of my friends have the same connection & all of us are assigned a static ip address.
What i want is a software which can allow me & my friend to share our resources as in lan but the problem is there are lot of intrusions.So i want only selected people to gain access my resources.
Please suggest some good software
Moreover how can i share resources with my friends having different net connections

well if u r useing win2k, winXP, win2k3 & u r in the same network (In the same locality & in the same server..)... then just share ur HDD, Printer, Scanner.... & asing Password for access... then only u can & people know the password can accesss.... no need for separate software...

but if u want 2 use a internet connection as LAN then try this 30 Day free (they say 30 days but i am running it for 4 monh now...) tool accessing the bigger files larger than to email.... for file, scaner, printer share....
