You have both PCI-ex16 and AGPx8 slots :confused::confused::confused::confused:

anyways, if you say so, I recommand a Galaxy/MSI/ASUS 8400GS 256MB for that budget.

Gigabyte is around 2.6k
MSI is 2.7k
ASUS around 2.6-2.8k.

The most VFM will be Gigabyte.

PS - There is a Sparkle variant of this card which retails around 2.5-2.6k and should be considered :).

well, it's 2.8k without shipping(buy directly from vendor)

What else cud he ask, and it's way better than a 8400GS or 8500GT, for his good.
Don't eat pizza for a month, save 200bucks and get the 8600GT

We prefer u to get atleast 8600GT coz 8400GS is a dumb card and it really sucks..... Its better u raise ur budget a little and get a Mercury 8600GT for around 3k.... If u still wish 2 go for 8400GS.. its upto u.

BTW For what u buying the card... playing games?.. or just watching movies....?
For the latter 8400GS is enough, but it is no harm to invest some addnal bucks to get a worthy product......

for little games + movies

No, wait!!

Buy the ASUS 8600GT 256MB GDDR3 for 3k (0.5k hardly makes a diff.) coz its performance will be 60-70% more than a 8400GS.

hmmm

looks like 8600gt is nice one

so now i will be going for 8600GT' :p
