Hey! Please suggest a good config for 50K.....

!) Which to go AMD/ Intel. I thought of former, but i dont have well based info on it like intel. So which model to choose if in AMD

2)MB for the same

3) RAM... 512ddr 400mhz or 2*512?

4)HDD... I prefer 160GB - 200GB SATA... But wats SATA?

5)Surely...The inbuilt Graphics wont be suff to play games/editing stuffs.. SO which Graphics card to go for a balanced experience+ tv input

6)CABINET...Well Spaced out with 300/400w??( Surely for future upgradation+ FDD+speakers+UPS

7)DVD writer is a must.. But which company list?(Sony/Lg/likewise)

8)Cordless Keyboard+mouse

9)I am thinkin of buying a LCD monitor as it is supposed to be radiation free... Since long hours i computer like 16-20 hours WILL deteriorate eyes and health. But the cost of 17 LCD = cost of 19 CRT =2Cost of 17 CRT.. Which to choose for a balanced performance. Since i thought moslty of LCD, which to choose (17')

In intel, i came up with this config... [ripped from deltapage.com]

Intel - HT P4-LGA 3.2 GHz 800MHz, 2MB,LGA-HT 10650
Intel D915GAV 915G,V,S,16xPCX 4900
Hynx / Tran. 512MB-DDR-400 400MHz - PC3200 2100 / 2575
SGT / SS 200GB - SATA Baracuda / Puma 7200r 4400
LG DVD-Writer 16xD 16x, Dual Layer, 8.5GB 2800 / 2900
Zebronics Class - 10 Models w/USB, Audio & Fan 1200~1400
Samsung 17" - 713N Avail in Dualtone/Full Blk 13900
Logitech SET - C.Less Wh Total Cordless w/Opti M 1800
Altec Lans AVS200 - 2.0 Basic Model - 6w RMS 400

Total - ~38K

And rest on Graphics card till 50K..

You can see that most of the gaps in the budget are empty and even.. Please help me out.. I want this build to be suited well for image editing, gaming and all kinda stuffs..Like an allrounder...

Also... Is there a good build Under 20K with p4+256ram+80hdd?

Thanks in advance....

1. AMD Athlon 3200+ / 3000+ will do fine
3. 2x512 if u can afford it. else 2x256 in dual channel mode.
4. Ur choice. and SATA is Serial-ATA. google for more or look at wikipedia.
6. Any of yr choice with 400W atleast since ur gettin a gphx card. and FDD for future? its over-than-almost obsolete now.
7. Lite-On/Sony (NEVER SAMSUNG)
8. Logitech will do fine. any design u feel comfortable with.

Thx digitized... Upon enquiry, the local dealers said that "AMD has more heating problems.. Since Pentium is the Well pop one,we recommend P4 3.2 HT ~ 10K or try out the new dual processors Pentium D 2.8~12K..

I've also wanted to get an AMD first, but now am a bit confused. Is dual core from intel stable that much? or if i should stick to intel 3.2 HT..

AMD is also good at hand.. But only thing is that i dont know well about AMD processors...IF its AMD , which to go within 15k(mb+processor)

Hm... im not really interested in movies... just thought to try out the cordless stuff..Ok then, no cordless.. A good keyboard+mouse~1K would do..

And About the RAM, its surely 512 x2 @400mhz.. But what about ddr2? will it replace ddr in near future? since this build should last for atleast 3~4yrs...

And at LAST.. the graphics cards... I need to buy a tv tuner card with this build as well.. SO, is XFX 7600GT @ Rs.14000 necessory?. Surely, i would try out some games, but 14K for a graphics card? i was thinking for a set of graphics card+tv tuner card within 10K..

The dealers suggested me this config

Intel Pentium D(Dual core) 2.8ghz 12500
Intel D915GAV 4900
RAM 512x2 2400*2(3yrs) = 4800
KeyBoard+Mouse 1000
Cabinet 1500
Speakers 350
CRT monitor 6500
200GB SATA HDD 4500
FDD 300
DVD writer 3000
TV tuner card 2000
UPS 1500

======
Total : 42850+rest 7K for graphics card....

Its really confusing .... What to do.. Please guys.. Help out...

Well i'd say the following :

AMD Athlon64 3500+ ,,,,, Asus A8N SLi ..... with atleast 1 GB of PC3200 ram ... even better 2GB of it .... surely a 256 bit card ... so it takes the 7600GT out of the question ... i'd say a 6800GS XXX edition ...

Main thing - Stay Away from Pentium D [Intel Dual Core].Reasons being its crappy dual core implementation and imagine 2 prescott cores running in your PC.It heats like anything.

Also 7600GT is much better option compared to 6800GS.IMHO.
