My question is: If you can afford 8800GTX, can't you cough up couple more grand and get a Core2Duo E6300? Get the C2D and you will never regret it.
__________
Buy only from following Conroes: E6300, E6600 or E6700. The other two(E6400 and E6800) don't give enough returns for the extra price.

regarding the c2d processors, if you can wait till second half of 2007, you can get the same proccy @ some cheaper rate.
__________
does Intel DG965RY Motherboard or any other intel m/b have onboard/in-built WiFi

Just another linux lover.
I want to know one thing here. Are all C2D processors have 64bit architecture??? If yes, then what would happen with our current 32bit applications (this includes OSs also, such as WinXP, Linux etc.)??? Will they run taking the full advantage of dual cores??? Please share your views....

965ry is dx10 upgradable. (not 100%).

then again in Q2 2007, DX10 chipset from intel is arriving. read more about it here

but as far as gaming is concerned, you have to get a dedicated gfx. card, coz GMA x3000 is NOT gaming card & talking about nvidia 8800, the price is astronomical. for the mid-low end DX10 card, you'll have to wait till 1st quarter of 2007.

To Play DX10 games, according to this news DirectX 10 will not take off until 2nd Half 2007, says AMD, you'll have to wait till 2nd half of next year. :(
