My Windows Xp won't load

My system:
Windows Xp
Service pack 2
Pentium 4, 512MBRAM

The system starts normally but the OS won't load. Don't know what's wrong?? Can some help.

Sounds like you have accidentally deleted boot.ini in C:
Dunno how to fix it though.

Insert the Windows CD and boot from it
Select the repair option
At the prompt type

fixboot

and press ENTER

followed by

fixmbr

and press ENTER

Press Ctrl and Alt and Del to reboot
