MSWord and Excel Error

When i start Microsoft word or Excel it give this error

MSWord.exe has generated errors and will be closed

by windows. you will need to resart the program.
An error log is being generated.

I reinstalled Msoffice but probelm not solved. I am facing this proble from a long time again and again. What is the reason? any virus?
I have Norton antivirus installed.

Maybe Word is conflicting with a software. If you installed a software prior to when erros are being generated please unistall such softwares.

Hmmm , Lets see. Im gonig to assume that you open the programs by not clicking on any file but the actual program from the program menu or the shortcut to the actual programs. Go to Start > Run and then type winword /a and check if it does give you an error. try the same for excel . that is you would go to start and then run and type excel /a .

Also like the above poster said , were any new programs installed recently or any files manually deleted etc?
