MSCONFIG in XP Home Error

    I cannot access ms config utility by typing msconfig in run menu neither can get system information by typing msinfo32. In first case error is ' file not found' though it is present in my system and in secon case help file opens. Can anyone help? :roll:

    Hmm... Try this:
    Start > Run > Cmd (press enter)
    In the Command Window, Type this :
    Sfc /scannow (press enter) ..

    You can copy this file from any Computer running 2000 or XP. Not to worry.

    Its a small file.

    Just go to the Windows folder and you will find the msconfig file (Approx 140KB) sitting there

    look whether those files r located inside

    MSCONFIG.EXE in %SystemRoot%\System32

    and MSINfo.EXE in

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo

    If not, as ur case sounds... go here... if u have SP1/SP2 installed...

    %SystemRoot%\ServicePackFiles\i386

    and look for missing fies and paste them to their original location...

    Thanks to all buddies. MSCONFIG.EXE was relocated by copy from other folder to windows folder and problem is resolved.
