ms word shuts down automatically ...

Hi,

I have ms office xp. Every thing was allright untilll yesterday. My ms word documents shut down all of a sudden when i am working on them. Moreover some times the dont start atall. The licence screen is shown and then nothing opens or ms word window opens and dissapers after a second.
Is it a virus? I have tried Nortorn antivirus 2004 and there were only adwares found but nothing associated with words.
Please help me.

humm... Try reinstalling the office... load the service pack 3 (i think thats the latest..)... & Defrag ur HDD.... BTW which OS u r in??

& adware r also BAD for ur system... i dont trust NAV... try with KAV Personal Pro 5.0 i personaly feel best in busyness...

cud be. schedule a boot-time (or in safe mode) scan of ur anti-virus. or better still re-confirm with an updated avast or avg anti-virus.
also use an updated microsoft antispyware and adaware anti-spy and scan ur pc.
also clear up ur pc junk using ccleaner.
all these avlbl in recent digit cd's or at www.download.com.

IF doing above does not help u, right click on ur task bar and open task manage and see if u find any suspicious processess. else post ur 'hijack this' log here.
