MP3 player - ipod or suggest me something

1. i'm planning to buy an mp3 player as a gift for a friend. ipod shuffle 1GB is about Rs 2000. is there any other mp3 player out there which has a good warranty and has good efficiency? the lesser the prices, the better it is. my budget is Rs 2000. please do suggest some few mp3 players. thank you.

2. also, i'm planning to buy an external hard disk. 160GB or 250GB. could u guys recommend me as to which one would be the best. thank you.

nothing will beat sandisk's sansa clip 2gb music player in 2k...just search in google for "sansa clip reviews" or "sansa clip vs ipod shuffle"..

Nothing beats its performance and its damn feature rich.

I have used iPod Shuffle and trust me, it does nothing except play mp3 and aac files. No radio, no sound recorder, no radio recorder, no browsing files, no folder support, no equilizer, no nothing. Sound quality quite average.
