Mouse Trouble -- Help

For past few days my Mouse is getting hanged up or stuck up and doesnt work until left for few second.In worst case I had to restart my PC.My system is P-4 1.7GHz,256 mb RAM,CD R/W,120 Gb hard disk.webcam - creative,Printer-HP,SiS Graphics Card.I made a thorough virus scan,scan disk, parasite scan but no result. Sometimes even after restart my mouse is getting disabled. Can anyone help me please.

to start off, just clean the mouse connector(ps2/com), as it seems a lose connection.

Also, check if any of the pins on the PS2 connector are bent. If they are, straighten them out and you should be all right.
