Motherboard-Monitor incompatible

Hi all,

Is there any chance of monitor incompatiblity with the motherboard..
because i think my intel 865gbf motherboard in not supporting latest 17' LG 700E monitor....it runs fine safe mode but not in normal mode i.e resolution after 800*600.......please help me....what may be the problem....

i dont think there are any compatablity issues between the two, pls check them using another computer.
1. another working monitor on your mobo- to check your mobo
2. your monitor on another working mobo - to check your monitor

Probably it's got to do with the refresh rate try lowering the same in the safe mode and then try.

Mobo 865gbf works fine in safe mode of win98se but in normal mode when i change the resolution to either 800*600 or 1024*768 the monitor
goes blank with bleeping indicator or it hangs.

Try replacing the mobo then. If not upgrade drivers and update latest bios from intel website. I did that with my intel 915 board as there were some problems.
Also check intel website for their input. It is quite usefull too.
