Hi all,

I have got a serious problem with my monitor. Whenever I switch on my monitor, the screen shakes voilently. nothing is seen clear. It keeps on shaking till the welcome screen comes. Its not that the screen becomes stable when the monitor is heated up, it shakes every time it is rebooted on whenever bios comes till the welcome screen. Is my monitor is in its last stages?? Please help.

Thanks
Krish

then call the technician coz i dont think there are other causes of screen flickering

1)how old is your monitor?
2) does flickering occurs in windwos mode also ?

In the zone
try decreasing the refresh rate.
if the refresh rate is set to higher levels then wat the monitor can handle then this problem occurs.
anyways not sure thoug but the same problem occured to be too

@expertno.1
1)5 years now
2) no shaking in windows mode

@q3_abhi
I think its probably a refresh rate problem. Try to keep it default

Yes, most prob. it may be due to higher refresh rate then what monitor is supposed to work in. My monitor is a 5 years old Microtek 14" monitor. The max. refresh rate supported is 75hz. But since the time I've installed my new FX5200 AGP card, It also started working at 85Hz. So, I think that the problem may be due to that. I'll try to low my monitor's refresh rate.

Thanks
