Well, read in Today's INDIAN EXPRESS:
BSNL gives students the reason 2 celebrate with its Rs. 99/- monthly STUDNET POWER SCHEME.
Tariff:
LOCAL CALLS: (Same LSA)
CellOne to Mobile: Rs. 1.50 per minute/pulse
CellOne to Fixed, FWT, others: Rs. 1/50 per minute/pulse
STD CALLS: (Outside LSA)
CellOne to any mobile: Rs.2.00 per minute/pulse
CellOne to Fixed, FWT, others: Rs. 2.40 per minute/pulse
SPEICAL SMS PACKAGE: (Same LSA)
CellOne to CellOne: Rs. 0.10
CellOne to Others: Rs. 0.60
--- Just show your Student I-Card and get the phone..
OFFER VALID TILL 30th OCTOBER 2005

It's prepaid, of course. Saw a ad at "The Hindu" also. Only SIM man, you think they gonna give you a Nokia 2300 for rs99?

How can they get 99/- in pre-paid.
99/- per month should be monthly rental!

It is POSTPAID.. Actually, it seems cheap but you will have to pay all you talk(outgoing), chat, SMS etc.. Perhaps, AIRTEL (w/ TALKTIME of Rs 50/- ) at Rs. 200/-

You will return home from college some time or the other. It's for that. Besides as far as I know, Cell Phones are allowed in most state colleges. Atleast thats the case here in Orissa.

Hey MOBILE PHONES FOR STUDNETS ARE NOT FOR SHOWING OFF AND TIME-PASSING IN COLLEGES. It is for STUDNETS WHO LIVE FAR FROM HOME AND CAN CONTACT THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.. Of course, Mobile phones should be banned in Colleges..
