memory read error while playing gta4

i just bought gta4. installed it.
when i start my game few start up screens are shown(Character images).
then a error box shows up.
saying "the instruction at "0*xxxxx" referenced memory at "0*xxxxx",the memory could not be written."
please suggest me some solution
i Have core 2 duo processor.
intel 945 chipset.
g4 8400 se 512 mb graphic card
2 gb ram.

Do mention your full PC Specs (OS too)

Try updating all the "drivers" and increase the "Virtual Memory" for a start, see if it solves the prob

hey buddy thanks for reply....

i have windows xp professional with sp3 installed after game asked me to.
i have reinstalled the game after installing service pack 3.
i changed the virtual memory size to min 4096 and max 8192.
i upgraded the video drivers from nvidia.com.
i have anti virus avira antivir personal edition 8.2.0.337
which is updated daily.
again i have spyware- search and destroy which i update on regular basis.

so buddy do u have any solution to this ???
please help me out..
