mayb a virus..help me

hi all
this is my first post in the forum

i am experiencing some probs with my system.

whenever i try to edit the registry by using regedit in run.. it says
"registry editing disabled by administrator."
i feel its a virus or spyware or something like that


secondly, i cant access the task manager..when i right click the task bar, the task manager option will never be highlighted .. even the shortcut keys doesnt give me the task manager..
feels its also a virus prob

someone plz help me
what can be done to remove such probs?

here are some suggestions I found on a forum about the registry

for task m. do this
Click Start, Run, type gpedit.msc and click OK.
Navigate to this branch:

User Configuration / Administrative Templates / System / Ctrl+Alt+Delete Options / Remove Task Manager

Double-click the Remove Task Manager option.
Set the policy to Not Configured.

you say maybe Virus Problem, so did you run a Virus Scan???

do give us info on-
=>which OS you hav, XP Home or Professional?
=>which AntiVirus/AntiSpyware you're using?

No its not a virus. May be some malware or s/w has disabled it in background.
Please try the solutions by vimal or pathiks. It must work.
