Machine Location

HI,

Is it possible to identify the location of a computer by the IP address of that machine ?? Not probably the exact location, but any type of idea ??

Yes it is possible.

Try this site. You have to enter the IP address you are searching for click 'Look it up' under Reverse Lookup. And you will get the location.

hey ,instead use some third party s/w's like nmap , ethereal which r freely available .with this u can not only locate the location of machine with it's ip add. but can perform other tasks too like if u get a mail u can trace the machine's location from where it was sent , etc.

If you are on a GNU/Linux or any kind of UNIX machine then just give this command on a terminal...

$ whois www.ncst.ernet.in
