Mac OS X Compatibility issues

Hey my dad's gonna get a powerbook G4 based on my advise.....n wht he needs to know is...will he be able to run software for windows on Mac OS through an emulator or something? because he uses software like SPSS and Statistica, most of them are for Windows, and (i) i don't think they make MacOS versions and (ii) even if they did, my dad wldnt like spending for them after purchasing the windows version for an arm and a leg<figuratively> :lol: ...newayz...so help me out!

yes, you can use Virtual PC 7 for MAC. You can download it at www.microsoft.com/mac

The emulation is decent and it will run the basic software fine.

However, there are rumors that Apple will come out with intel based powerbooks and ibooks in MWSF, 2006 starting on Jan 13 next year.

So you might want to wait before you decide on purchasing the pbook as you will be able to dual boot windows and OS X on the intel machines.

Anyways, the G4 is a decent processor which is very efficient.
