In games, you use all sorts of weapons -ranging from the beretta, desert eagle, the deadly magnum or the BFG!!! But in reality, you have only one weapon, and that’s your mouse. Being an avid gamer, I decided I’d had enough with my cheap Intex optical mouse which I had purchased years ago for Rs. 200, and prepared to get myself a specialized gaming mouse. I had various options to choose from – Logitech’s G5, MX-518, some from Razer and Creative Fata1ity Gaming Mouse. After due consideration, I settled for the Logitech MX-518 Gaming Grade Optical Mouse.
PACKAGING
The MX-518 is packaged rather attractively. The mouse itself isn’t covered, but visible with just a hard plastic cover hugging its contours, so you can have a feel of the mouse in your hands without having to open the packaging.
TECH SPECS
The Logitech MX-518 uses a MX Optical Engine which is one of the primary reasons I chose this mouse over others. Laser mice are generally fussy about the surface they’re used on. That means investing in a good mousepad becomes necessary. But the MX-518, being an optical mouse, works well on a wide range of surfaces ranging from the el cheapo Rs. 20 mousepads to the metal fibre ones costing in excess of Rs. 1000. Why, you could even use it on wood directly, thought it’ll spoil your experience, not to mention the discomfort it’ll cause your hand.
