For a person trying to become MASTER IN LINUX, i would recommend RedHat as it is currently in the demand...

But Debian is supposedly one the best Linux available and most highly rated Linux distros are derived from this (Like Ubuntu, Knoppix and so on..)

Do wait for more replies..

Cheers!!! And All The Best!!!

hey cool_dude,
each and every one should start from basic so,
i don't think it is wise to suggest some one to go on higher level then starting from lowest again...

so start with very easy & user friendly linux distros like
Knowpix(live distro), Mandrake, SUSE,
then move to Rad-Hat
and then on Debian....

Hmmm.. I should recommend you The Linux Documentation Project ...
And also join your local Linux User Group (LUG) ..

Maybe Anurag can help him finding a LUG near him ..
