It seems to be a great news as they came together to standardize set of components for desktop versions and applications ,makes easier to developers.

What abt Hardware manufacturers.Is there any move regarding hardware support!!!

It was very much required to have a common PLAf (platform look & feel). This would certainly be one more step towards popularising linux.
