depends on ur need... I guess after (Acer made a price cut) price drop Acer 4710 would be aroun Rs. 35.5k :) and the Acer 4710z is now at 30k all :)

now its on ur needs what u need, quite frankly C2D with Intel 945 (GMA 950) is not which I would recomend :p if u plan for C2D lappy I would say think of Dell 1420 with 8400 GM or at-least the base x3100 (Mobile Intel 965)

^^^

web prices are usually higher sometime lot higher than actuall street price... its always better to pay a visit to the nearest hardware shop... always remember the Company show room usually ask higher price where as ur usual hardware vendor may bring the product in lot cheaper price :D

I would suggest iether Acer 4710z or Dell 6400... both are almost same configuration how ever dell comes with better battery backup and its 15" display and a better brand name with it :D where as Acer has a bigger HDD and its cheaper than Dell

Acer 4710z is around Rs. 30-31k all in Kolkata
Dell is around 3k coslier than Acer...

however as u plan a long run in both case I recomend opt for Extended Warrenty :D its really worth the extra few bucks as if u plan to run it for log time :D

Acer would cost u around 4.5 to 5k to increase the warrenty to 3 year where as Dell will cost 6k for that purpose :)
