Just a basic enquiry for a Laptop

I am not keen to buy a laptop right now but i have no idea when i will buy it, so i am just inquiring information... /

QUESTIONNAIRE


1) What is your budget? (INR or USD)

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
14-16 "


3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: DELL - cuz its tried n tested
b. Dislike: SONY VAIO
c. Unknown: samsung-(they r new in this field, their pricing is really gud but idk the quality build.) HP-they say its heats up alot . Toshiba - I have no Idea. ASUS- I have no Idea


4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
Everyday use for browsing net n editing files, rendering short videos, casual gaming

5) What screen resolution(s) & type (glossy/matte) would you prefer?
Best possible in my budget n whichever is better.

6) Anything else you would like to say?
4GB Ram, Dedicated gfx card or equivalent, HDD at least 500GB, Online shopping (flipkart) or NehruPlace

My current Laptop Config.

DELL INSPIRON 6400

Intel Core 2 duo @ 1.86Ghz
1GB Ram DDR2
Mobile Intel 945 Express Chipset (gfx) 256MB

Plz suggest me accordingly whether i can upgrade this laptop or shud go for a new one..
n is the ram of my dell upgradable n by hw much can i extend or get a new one (if its upgradable then plz do give a flipkart link which is compatible with my dell)

laptops can't be upgraded like PCs except ram and HDD. in you budget DELL INSPIRON 15R is good choice.

First of all you won't be able to upgrade your laptop, though you can increase the RAM.
BTW what type of gaming will you be doing? Please specify.
Have a look at new dell inspiron 15R/14R at dell India website with 3rd gen i5 processor.It will cost you around 42-45k

Samsung NP300E5X-A01IN is a very good laptop for the price.
And get dell laptops from dell India website.And avail 3-5% corporate or govt employee discount so then cost of the same laptop with original windows will be almost equivalent to the one without OS bought from flipkart
