    I m planing to buy new HDD Western Digital 160Gb 8Mb cache, ultra ATA
    for my
    AMD Duron 1ghz. 512 mb ram.
    so is this HDD ok for my PC?

    the price is 99$ its on sale. the original is 199$.

    $99 is 4500 Rs. Approx. Thats too much a price for this HDD. You'll get a 160 GB HDD for 3.5-3.7k.

    160GB SATA Seagate costs - Rs 4500
    200GB SATA Seagate costs - Rs 5200

    without SATA Rs 500/- less

    Is that canadian dollars? Then it comes to around Rs.3800. But I guess WD is a bit costly.

    yes its in canadian dollar. 99$ is like 3000 indian Rs. there so its not a bad deal.

    i dont know about mobo. coz. its of my uncle. but does mobo effect the working of HDD?

    Mobo does affect the working of hdd, in sense of capacity it can support and advantages it can take of the speed of HDD

    i have K7SEM mainboard. it is a Micro ATX mainboard with SiS730S chipset. so wat u say?
